Greetings from Paul Anderson
The Berkshire Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional

Pros day

Very many congratulations to all the prize winners on Sunday, the winning scores of 55.9 and 54.3 is most impressive. I have taken note of all the suggestions to change the rules for next year and hope asking the team of Irwin, Cooke and Holden to play without the use of a putter doesn't seem too unfair!

Red Course results - The winning team competing on the Red Course was made up of Jeremy Irwin, Freddie Irwin, Roger Cooke and Ben Holden (pictured below) who scored a day's best of 54.3. Their score was good enough for a near five shot victory over their closest competitors. Two groups finished on a score of 59.1, but taking second place after countback were Grahame Barker, Nick Smith, Nick Lomas and Iain Pretsell ahead of third placed David Doodson, Alastair Doodson, Peter Walton and Colin Lumley. The ladies long drive was won by Cathy Panton Lewis, and Caroine Bayman won the ladies nearest pin. The men's long drive was claimed by Peter Ward with Nick Lomas securing nearest the pin.

Blue Course results - Nick Bragg, Lucinda Dashwood, Christopher Clarke and Charlotte Clarke were victorious on the Blue Course with a brilliant score of 55.9 (pictured above). In second was the team of Gary Lees, Angus Lees, Paul Taberer and Sharon Taberer ahead of Jack Naylor, Becca Naylor, Saskia Naylor and Rupert Naylor in third. Saskia Naylor and Angus Lees won their respective longest drive competitions, with Becca Naylor and Will Seabrook winning the nearest the pin prizes.

I would like to thank everyone again for taking part and hope you can all play again next year.

Golf Care

Are you taking a risk?

Every time we hear someone say they don’t have golf insurance, we wince. The potential costs associated with injuring someone with a stray shot, for example, should be enough to make you think about taking out a policy. We can help find a suitable policy that covers you with our recommended insurance provider, Golf Care, here…
