Great news for Cathy...

Cathy has received a special exemption to play in the 2020 U.S. Senior Women’s Open.

We will no doubt remember that Cathy qualified last year but sadly was unable to take her place in this Major competition.

The Championship is taking place at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, Connecticut from July 9 to 12. The Championship will be the third USGA Senior Women’s Open Championship.

The first two Championships were won by Laura Davies in 2018 and Helen Alfredsson in 2019. Cathy played in the inaugural event in 2018 at The Chicago Club, in which she made the cut.

The U.S. Senior Women’s will be the fifth overall USGA Championship hosted by Brooklawn Country Club, including the 1987 U.S. Senior Open which was won by Gary Player.

Mind over matter

Have you heard the saying golf is 10% physical and 90% mental? There is certainly some truth in it, which means a change in mindset could easily lead to better scores.

10-yard rule

When Tiger Woods plays a bad shot, he has a rule that allows him 10-yards to vent before dropping it out of his mind and moving on.

Stay in the moment

Bad shots are no fun so try not to dwell on them. Equally, if you are on for a good score, stay in the present and don’t get too far ahead of yourself.
