Le Open De France Pro-Am

Martyn Best and Mark Gidney represented The Berkshire in the Open de France Pro-Am this week at the National de Golf, the 2018 Ryder Cup course. The Berkshire team played with Scott Hend from Australia and came a very respectable 15th out of 28. The only Berkshire member to get his hands on a trophy at this event was David Garland who presented all the prizes!


The Berkshire Trophy 2017

The 2017 Berkshire Trophy, which is part of the R&A Calendar for top amateur golfers, was one to remember. Adam Lumley (pictured, right) from Coventry played in the event for the first time and with rounds of 65+67+67+70  was extremely deserving of his victory, winning by a margin of 7 strokes. The Scrutton Jug is awarded for the best combined total in the Brabazon and Berkshire Trophies. Jake Burnage (pictured, left) from Saunton won the Scrutton Jug for the second time this year, he was joint runner-up in the Brabazon and shared sixth place in this year's Berkshire Trophy. The courses were in great condition for this year's event and much enjoyed by all the competitors.
