New Tee On 18 Blue

The 18th hole on the Blue course has always been regarded as an excellent closing hole, however I wonder if the newly constructed tee, which is approximately 40 yards behind the original, now  transforms this hole into one of the very best finishing holes found anywhere in the country. 

Standing on the back of the new tee you get a view of a fairly narrow gap between the trees which will no doubt remind some players of playing the 11th tee shot at Augusta National. I am very much looking forward to having a go on it, although I may need  to practise my driving first.


 

It was very good to see such a large number of Juniors at last Sunday's Junior Coaching session and it was great to see so many take part in the 9 hole Stableford competition which followed. Very well done to our winner Hugo Scrope with an amazing score of 30 points, beating Sandy Collie's equally amazing score of 29 points. I can only assume Carol Pettman will be busy reducing some handicaps this week!
