Congratulations to James Dale for being only the third man in history to win the Donald Steel Cup (36-hole scratch) and Mackenzie Bowl (36-hole handicap) in the same year. This feat was first achieved by Christopher Lee in 1965 and again by Richard Neame in 1995. Dominic Coull's new born son only allowed him one hour's sleep the night before his defence of the Mackenzie Bowl, so he did remarkably well to finish in second place only one shot behind James. Well done also to Edward Hawkes for winning the Stevenson Medal for an excellent scratch score of 71 on the Blue Course.
