Family Christmas Lunch - Sunday, 13 December 

As we all know, Santa Claus is playing at The Berkshire on Sunday. The fun starts at 11am with great activities for all the children. Due to popular demand, we will be running Cliffhanger, Finders Keepers, Bulls Eye, Target Fairway and Target Chipping. For anyone who would like to play in the Texas Scramble please meet me on the putting green and I will put you in a team and point you in the direction of the first tee.

Sand shot tip from Santa Claus

A theme you need to pick up on right away is the sense of acceleration right through the shot. Unlike my Elves, good bunker players are quite aggressive. Don't let the fact that you may only want the ball to travel 10 or 15 yards cause you to 'dolly' the shot, decelerating the clubhead weakly into the sand. For a real sense of splashing the ball up and out of the trap, you need to commit yourself to releasing the club all the way to a finish and then the shot should be followed by hearty 'Ho Ho Ho'!
